Victim is an experimental puzzle game in which the player must choose emotional responses as they confront a bully.
Victim is a 2D narrative puzzle game based on player choice and emotions that uses a puzzle-based mechanic to deliver an emotional experience to players. Players take on the role of a bully's victim and must resolve the situation. Players are given the option of how to respond to the bully through a list of emotions they can exhibit.
The project was highly experimental and was never fully finished. Player choice seems to lack consequence and it is difficult to figure out how one should choose to react when searching for a particular outcome. The bully's emotions were not very clearly expressed to the player, either, which presented some of the issue of figuring out the best response as the player.
Overall, the game was a success in that I learned a lot about how players make choices, describing a narrative with no story, conveying an emotion experience, and even dialogue trees.
