Team Fortress 2: The Board game is a tabletop adatation of the popular digital FPS team game.
Creating a physical version of a digital game was an amazing experience. Finding a set of mechanics that gave players a similar feeling to the mechanics utilized in the digital game was a major task within itself. Eventually, though, I was able to find a set of mechanics that really made the physical version of the game feel like the original digital version.
One of the most important pieces, though, was the balance. Without making the balance near to perfect, there was no way the game would feel anything like its digital counterpart. To find the right balance, I did a lot of research on Team Fortress 2. The research yielded a lot of helpful information that I used to find the correct balance between units. Through research and testing, I was able to find the best possible balance between the units to create an exciting experience that felt like a lot like the digital game.
