Hunger is a card game that uses a simple collection mechanic.
Hunger is a card game that puts players in a position of uncertainly. All players play as starving people who need to steal food in to survive and feed their families. Players draw & discard, and occasionally steal, in an attempt to build a feast.
When I developed this game, I wanted to create an experience in which players felt uncertain about their own choices. While the player is starving, so is everyone else playing with him/her. This puts a heavier tone on the option to steal from another player.
Instead of stealing, players may also grant a generosity to other players. In doing so, a player gives an extra piece of food to the next player. This allowed the generous player to draw from the discard pile instead of drawing at random.
It was intended that players think about their choices in this game and whether or not players chose what was best for their own good or if they chose based upon their own morality.
